Matthew Encina

Matthew Encina’s passion for story telling and creating engaging visuals stems from his rich background in art, design, and animation. Discovering his interests early on, Matthew studied in specialized art programs since the age of 13.
After receiving his BFA from Art Center College of Design, Matthew co-founded the design collective, Born, with fellow graduates to pursue their own unique brand of storytelling. Prior to joining Blind, he spent several years running the freelance circuit, collaborating on prominent projects at some of LA’s top shops including Buck, Royale, Motion Theory, Logan, Shilo, Nanospore, Belief, and Razorfish. His integral involvement in the creative process has ranged from design, animation, and direction– giving him the extensive knowledge needed to develop an idea into a visual art.
Matthew has played a key role in developing some of the Blind’s notable work, including projects for Worst Case Senario, Bright House Networks, Thunder Valley Casino, and United States of Tara. Outside of Blind, Matthew has recently contributed to high-profile projects including Target’s “I Will campaign,” and Intel’s “Sponsor’s of Tomorrow,” via Motion Theory. as well as Born’s “Hare Four Thrillhare” in the PSST! Pass It On series.
Outside of pushing pixels, Matthew also loves to rock climb and dance. He also enjoys shooting photos with old glass and expired film. View his personal website here: http://www.matthewencina.com/
