Fuse Original Programming

FUSE, a music oriented cable channel, approached Blind when they needed a fresh, original, and engaging identity for their new schedule of internally developed content. Inspired by guitar smashing rock stars, the spot pits a rock and roll 3D-modeled robot against a psychedelic dreamscape. With guitar, or even just its own metallic feet, the posturing robot trashes the city of “squares”€ below it. The look of the spot was designed to be eclectic and fun by combining 2d sketched elements, the 3d robot and photographic background elements.

We began with the design development of the characters featured in the spots. The robot was then modeled in Studio Max and several animation cycles of smashing and kicking were created. The robot was then combined with 2d animations and digital photos in After Effects.
