Syfy “Honey Nut Cheerios”
Syfy returned to Blind to bring this co-branded spot with Honey Nut Cheerios to life. The challenge was not only to integrate HNC’s unique brand into the new look of Syfy, but also to find an engaging way to promote the new Honey Nut Cheerios Augmented Reality city. Utilizing new technologies to create a more immersive experience would create a whole new way of having your breakfast cereal, and it was up to Blind to get the word out.
The solution was to create a narrative that shows the AR city in a dynamic way that interacts with our old friend Buzz. Not only does Buzz get to kick it all off but he gets to fly through the animated city as it grows around him. All leading to the Syfy logo, of course.
Similar to the last collaboration with Syfy, Creative Director Richard Eng and the team were able to actively work together with the client throughout the project. “It’s always a pleasure to partner with a client that trusts you to try different things, but is also able to contribute in a meaningful way,” Richard said.
Somewhere along the way, the story took a turn or two, but the team was able to take the changes in stride and create a cohesive and playful animation in the end. Plenty of Augmented Reality city? Check. Integration of Syfy and Honey Nut Cheerios brands? Check. Another successful Syfy/Blind joint? Double check.

I really like how simple and straightforward this piece was. Camera movements were clean and fluid. Thanks for sharing.
